Say Goodbye to Your Dry Skin!

Moisturising is the one tip and only solution that can be provided to give your skin a glowing lift but how we moisturise our skin is actually more complex than just a simple one step moisturiser. If your skin, (like mine) gets extremely dry and chapped easily then perhaps taking more precautions then just moisturising alone can be your best answer to solving your skin issues. When looking for moisturising products you must be aware of the ingredients that you should be looking out for.

Certain ingredients will have much more benefits to your skin and being aware of what to look for in your skin care can actually save you a lot of time and money. Some key ingredients to look for are alpha-hydroxy acids which are nourishing for skin while also having anti-ageing properties and can be fantastic for acne prone skin. Hyaluronic Acid is another keeping your skin hydrated and moisturised. I think it is important to ensure that all of your skincare products are hydrating, not just leaving it all up to your moisturiser.

Some of my favourites are as follows:

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Cleanser Face Wipes - Face wipes generally can be quite drying, but they are a quick fix to makeup removal, I find these wipes quite gentle on my skin and they don't add more dryness to my face the way I find most face wipes do.

Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm: Is a fantastic way to cleanse your face and remove makeup. It is also hydrating your skin while removing all of the oils and build-up on your skin from throughout the day.

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream- Is great for really deep targeted hydration. This cream is an all-rounder and is actually not that expensive. It can be used for so much. The scent can be slightly overbearing but it really is a god send in the winter months. On really flaky dry patches this stuff will be your best friend. If you warm it up in your hands first and lightly apply it all over your face it can be really hydrating while also locking in moisture and provide protection from the elements such a wind burn. If you get really dry patches such as the corners of your nose and in your smile lines I apply it generously to the patches where my skin is very dry before bed at night and in the morning there is such an improvement. This is also AMAZING for chapped lips. I also use it on my hands and nails too.

Elizabeth Arden - Visible Difference Refining Moisture Cream Complex this formula is a very rich moisturiser which I don't often lean towards when I'm looking for a moisturiser but this is one that I actually repurchase all of the time, it is the perfect drink for your skin during those dry months, I especially like it at night time to give my skin that extra blast of hydration before bed.

Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask- This stuff really and truly is a holy grail product, it is something I will never see my kit without. It is so fantastic for absolutely everything but it is so hydrating, so nourishing and just an amazing product. I also love this type of mask because you can sleep in it overnight, you just cleanse it off in the morning then to a much brighter and hydrated complexion. This is honestly one of my all-time favourite products if you're suffering from dry skin, I would definitely recommend giving this a go. It is a little bit more expensive but you get so many uses out of it so to me it is worth every penny.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydration Mask - This mask is a much more affordable alternative and it truly rivals any other mask I have ever tried. This mask is different to sheet masks as it has a gel consistency which is so soothing and cooling on your skin. I used it the night before last and my skin has been feeling so amazing and hydrated ever since.

L’Oréal Hydro genius Liquid Moisturiser - This product feels more like a serum when applying it to your face, but it is so effective, I would normally use it in conjunction with either a mask or apply a normal moisturiser on afterwards when my skin is really dry to give it the ultimate blast of moisture.

Cetaphil - A light but very effective moisturiser, I would definitely recommend this if you suffer from sensitive skin, acne prone skin, oily skin. This product comes very highly recommended by dermatologists and is a lovely and light moisturiser that still is very effective in providing hydration to the skin.

Lanolips 101 Ointment Fruities- Is another fantastic product for hydrating your lips fighting those chapped, winter lips off for good.

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid +B5 - The Ordinary is a brand that offers luxury skincare at such affordable prices. I love to use this as a serum under my moisturiser or alone under my foundation. It uses a small concentrated amount of Hyaluronic Acid which is one of the best ingredients for moisturising so it gives your skin a real pick me up when needed.

I hope that you find some of these products as useful as I have. I have such dry skin in patches and I also suffer from psoriasis which only makes that dryness worse.
